The Sail Club
The Sail Club, located on the lake between the patio homes and townhomes, is a beautiful community meeting place. In addition to Board and other community meetings, it may be rented for private events by any resident. The rental fee is very reasonable for this magnificent and one-of-a-kind space (please see the DSRC Rules and Regulations page for the current Facility Reservation Policy along with rental forms and rates).
Looking back at the Sail Club from the shoreline, we see that it has walls full of windows and an unparalleled 180-degree view of the lake.
Doors on all four sides of the building give attendees access to the lake. There are private picnic areas with killer views, as well as access to the entire grass green belt of the Desert Shores Racquet Club.
Guests can freely flow around the outside of the building and enjoy the lake. Is that gorgeous or what?
The primary access to the building is located on the other side, directly above a path that winds between the patio homes and townhomes.
When you walk in the main door, you're greeted by a large open meeting space with a vaulted ceiling and recessed lighting. This is a terrific community asset for a variety of purposes, as well as an spectacular addition to the home of each individual homeowner. Your extended family and friends won't be able to entertain like this where they live!
The Sail Club has a full kitchen just off the main meeting room, which may be closed off if desired with a door.
There is also a separate office and meeting space if you need it, which may also be closed off from the main room with a door.
To the east of the main event space is a separate hallway...
...that leads to a large, clean and well-appointed restroom.
And with the camera set to capture the view instead of the room, this is what you're looking at out the main windows from the event room. At night, this is replaced with gorgeous lighting from the Desert Shores Community Center and the Lakeside Center reflecting across the water. For that $50 fee, this is another part of your house...and you only pay for it and clean it when you use it! It beats the best entertainment houses in Las Vegas.
Now, after (or during) your party ... boat ride, anyone?
