Facility Rules
Desert Shores Racquet Club residents and their authorized guests have access to a variety of first-rate amenities, many of which are described in detail under the "Amenities" section of this website. To protect the facilities and make sure that all residents are treated fairly, the Board has adopted rules and policies for their use. Each tab below describes the rules that apply to the various facilities available at DSRC.
General
Racquet Club Building and Main Recreation Area
General Rules
- Users of the facilities must be willing to provide resident I.D. if requested by a security officer or committee member.
- Turn off lights, air conditioning, & heater when not in use.
- Do not litter in building or grounds.
- Children under 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult.
- Guest MUST be accompanied by a DSRC resident. There is a limit of two (2) guests per member in the Racquet Club Building at one time.
- Residents are responsible for their guests.
- No pets allowed in the Racquet Club Building.
- No glass bottles or soda of any kind.
- No wheel toys, skates, bikes, wheels, skateboards, or scooters are permitted in the Racquet Club and Pool area.
- Tennis shoes are the only footwear permitted on the courts.
- Radio/stereo noise is to be kept at a level not to annoy other persons using the recreation facilities.
- The courts and the club house are to be kept clean at all times.

Pool
Pool Rules
- All persons using pool do so at own risk; DSRC is are not responsible for accidents or injuries
- No glass in pool area
- No food, drinks in pool area
- No pets allowed
- Unnecessary noise not permitted at any time
- No running or pushing
- People with long hair must wear bathing caps
- No swimming after dark unless area is lighted
- Solo bathing is prohibited
- Cleansing in shower before & after swimming is required
- Persons not dressed for bathing are not allowed in pool
- No spitting, soiling or in any way contaminating the water, walkways or dressing room floors
- Persons under the influence of alcohol are not permitted in or about the facility
- Manager reserves the right to deny use of the pool to anyone at any time
- Use pool at own risk when lifeguard not on duty
- Children 16 and younger must be accompanied by adult resident
- No diving
- Anyone adding soaps or oils, or contaminating the spa or pool in any other way, will lose their spa/pool use privileges.
Note:
- The pool is not heated during winter months, but the spa (hot tub) is.
- Outside bathrooms are locked during the winter.

Hot Tub
Hot Tub / Spa Rules
- All rules described in the "Pool" section apply to the Hot Tub.
- Children 14 years and under must be accompanied by an adult and maximum exposure for such persons is 10 minutes.
Note:
Extended exposure to hot water or vapors may be detrimental to the health of elderly persons and persons with a heart condition.

Racquetball
Racquetball and Basketball Rules
- Anyone using either court must sign in and out.
- Non-scuff athletic shoes only. Black soles are prohibited. Tennis shoes are the only footwear permitted on the court.
- Guest(s) must be accompanied by a Desert Shores Racquet Club member. A limit of 2 guests per member on the court at one time.
- No swimming attire allowed at any time.
- Play is limited to 1 hour, unless no one is waiting for the court.
- Radio/Stereo noise is to be kept at a level not to annoy other persons using the recreational facility.
- No wheel toys such as skates, bikes, big wheels, or skateboards will be permitted in the building at any time.
- The courts are to be kept clean at all times.
- No hanging or climbing on the basketball apparatus.

Gym
Gym & Exercise Equipment Rules
- Exercise equipment is used at resident's risk; DSRC takes no responsibility for its use.
- Exercise equipment is for use by residents only.
- Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- No smoking.
- No food or beverages.


Sail Club
Sail Club Rules
- The Sail Club is available for use by all DSRC residents for parties and other activities. Only a resident may reserve the Sail Club, and that resident must be present at the event.
- A small rental fee plus a security deposit will be collected for the use of the Sail Club.
- Clean up the Sail Club completely after use; the security deposit will be refunded after inspection. Any necessary damage or cleaning costs will be deducted from the deposit.
